Scott Lockyear is currently the Southeast Technical Director for WoodWorks and coordinates national efforts on wood frame school construction. Scott has developed multiple seminars relating to building construction including interpretation of code requirements, engineering principles, and design for high performance structures. He has also assisted hundreds of design professionals to incorporate wood frame construction into their designs. Scott also has experience in the development of codes and standards related to wood frame construction. This includes being the lead engineer for updating of the 2001 Wood Frame Construction Manual which is referenced in the IBC for high wind construction of wood buildings. Other efforts include participation in the ASCE 7 Standard for Design Loading along with multiple ASTM standards related to construction and durability. Scott has presented across the US discussing school construction at Chapter and Region CEFPI events along with multiple WoodWorks Workshops. He has also been published in Wood Design Focus, Building Safety, and Structure magazine multiple times.
